A physically tiring week w/ hike, swim, bike

On Monday, as our A-Z Phonics Reading Program covered “Hot at the Dam”; Princess had her lesson with Kayla at MacRitchie Reservoir. We had a small hike after the lesson.

On Tuesday, after visiting the Library, Mummy Eliz took part in Health Promotion Board’s Fitness @ Work, and had 30 mins of aerobic workout.

On Wednesday, with aching leg muscles, Mummy Eliz decided to take Prince Christian for a relaxing morning swim.

On Tuesday, as Daddy Tiong is on leave, the kids got to visit Explorer Kids, followed by bicycles ride at Pasir Ris Park.

On Friday, as Daddy Tiong is still clearing leave, we visited the Sengkang Swimming Complex.

Gentle, Cooperative, Respectful, Encouraging...

Any wonder why it comes as no surprise that proud disrespectful kids often have proud disrespectful adults as parents? And why gentle soft-spoken kids often are the kids of gentle soft-spoken adults?

Well, it comes as no surprise that kids are reflection of their own parents.

And in the process of watching our kids’ interaction with other kids and each other, Mummy Eliz realized that perhaps, she had been a little overly bossy, fierce, and with too much complaints at times.

Thus, the resolution is, for all members in the family to try to be more cooperative, respectful of others’ preferences, gentle, and to dish out more affirmations and encouragements.

PCF Bishan – T.Payoh Nth Banner Gal

When Principle Cheryl Tan asked Princess to wear the PE Attire of PCF Bishan – Toa Payoh North Branch for some photo-taking event, Mummy Eliz was not aware that the photos would be used for their Registration for 2010 Intake Banner.

The photos were taken in January, quite some time back, thus we had forgotten all about it.

Imagine our surprise to see this banner hanging near the road-side by chance while strolling home. This banner, we believed, can also be found along Bishan Street 22 and Bishan Street 23.

Sembawang Shopping Ctr Splash Park

With strong recommendations from both Auntie Fiona and Auntie El, we visited the Splash Park at Sembawang Shopping Ctr.

With a wet and a dry play-area, if not for the fact that the water supply was turned off at 2pm, we would never get to leave the place. It is definitely a place to visit for any family with active kids.

And for the 1st time ever, both kids, who missed their naps for the Splash Park fun, were knocked out at 630pm.

Prince - “Don’t u just find me irresistible?”

Pure, innocent electric power at its highest voltage, now which earthly being can resist this? Mummy Eliz is totally blown over. This little boy can get away with murder.

All these while Princess is busy with her weekly ballet class.

Dinner & Coffee w/ Mac Frenz

Princess and Prince have not seen Huifen Jieh-Jieh for a while, thus they were slow to warm up to her. But with the temptation of sip from her glass of cold soda, Prince willingly sat on her lap, and of course, enjoyed the sip.

"The Moment we are in Tension ... ... "

The Moment we are in Tension
we will lose our Attention
Then we are in Confusion
And we will feel Irritation
Then we will spoil personal Relation
Ultimately, we won't get Co - Operation
Then we will create Complication
Then our blood pressure may rise: Caution!
And we may have to take Medication
Instead, understand the Situation
And try to think about the Solution
Many problems will be solved by Discussion
This will work out better in any Profession or Situation
- Online quote

Christian’s 2-yr BDay w/ Mac Frenz

My Little Prince is 2-yr old already.

On top of the celebrations with our immediate family, and as a special treat, Princess Chelsea and Prince Christian get some fun workout time at Fidgets, an indoor air-con play-area at Turf City.

Then we had a little party at Sol Playground Café, the little ones get free balloons and experienced face painting for the first time.

Little Prince got a Thomas the Train set, while Princess Chelsea got a playdoh set. He loved the train set so much that he would not allow us to switch it off. Thank you, everyone!

He would chant “Train, go! Train, go!” non-stop until we give the nod for him to turn it on again. Thus even at 3am, the train goes.

PS:

And yes, the piggy-bank that God-Pa Mervin gave on Prince’s last birthday was filled before Prince turned 2-yo. Thank you for the cake, God-Pa!

Last Note:

Princess threw up a total of 4 times on the day itself; somehow she got mild stomach flu. Luckily all is well now.

“We're going to the Zoo, Zoo, Zoo!
How about you, you you?
You can come too, too, too!
We're going to the Zoo, Zoo, Zoo!”

Dr. Friendly Dental Talk w/ Puppets & Songs

After 2 weeks of confinement, this is the first trip Mummy Eliz took Princess on; attending a dental talk with puppets and songs by Dr. Friendly, organized by Auntie Pei Yee from the home-schooling group.

Dr. Friendly is already 68 years old, yet he is so passionate and involved in the teaching of proper dental care to pre-schoolers.

Read more about him at http://dr.friendly.books.googlepages.com/.

A short extract:

“The "real" Dr. Friendly is Dr. Lim Swee Teck. Considered by many in the dental profession as Singapore's founding father of children's dental care, he has more than 40 years of experience in treating children.”

He authored the Healthy Smile Series of books which is another milestone in his continuing efforts to help children have the right attitude towards dental health care; details about the books are available at his URL.

When he was asked why are the books [with colorful glossy pages] being sold at only $5 each, his answer was that he do not want to bring his knowledge together with him into his grave.

This is really active meaningful aging.
