Youth Olympic Games 2010 Closing Ceremony

Our family had a sauna done at the Marina Floating Platform in the last week of August 2010.

Just kidding, it was not a sauna, but with the stuffy air and great congestion, it would not pale in comparison when likened to a sauna any time of the day.

It was the S’pore Youth Olympic Games 2010 Closing Ceremony; complete with fireworks, but unfortunately, the enthusiasm of the crowd beats the performances hands-down.

Nevertheless, it was a moment in the making of the history of Singapore, along with her as the host country for the first ever Youth Olympic Games. Thus, we were there to give her our utmost support.

Princess Chelsea also attended the Final of the Woman Tennis Singles [S’pore got a silver], and the Preliminary Rounds of Artistic Gymnastics.

Wow! Art Trial Learning Class

The kids went for a trial art class at Wow! Art, and were taught about the usage of lines and dots.

And their creations, one is a butterfly and the other is a dragon, see if you can tell which is which.

Sentosa’s Skyride and the Luge

Upon checking out the next day, we went on the Skyride and the Luge, under the hot sun, by the time we were done, we were covered with perspiration.

Sentosa’s best loved spot – Palawan Beach

For those that are unaware, just outside Koufu at Palawan Beach, is a water play feature for the kids.

And it’s free.

Being on Palawan Beach itself, kids can either choose to build sandcastles, bath in the waves, or just have toned-down water play fun at the water feature.

Princess Chelsea and Prince Christian had so much fun there that they were quite reluctant to leave. In fact, we spent more time there than at the paid attraction Underwater World.

Mummy Eliz and Daddy Tiong had a rest at Koufu, while supervising their play. So it’s a win-win situation for all.

Sentosa’s Underwater World & Dolphin Lagoon

The person who enjoyed this most was Prince Christian, besides enjoying the attraction; he enjoyed a ride fitted for a king on top of Daddy Tiong’s shoulders the whole day.

Lucky him!

Mummy Eliz though the Dolphins look happier when the Dolphin Lagoon was in their previous location.

At the old location, one could have a view of the sea horizon while enjoying the Dolphin show.

Even though the new location now comes with proper seating [it used to be sitting on the bare sand], it looks too confined now, and left one with a suffocating feeling, especially under the hot Singapore sun.

Discipline Guideline – Consistency

The big keyword now when it comes to Discipline is Consistency, but when tiredness sets in after a long day, it’s so easy to give in and let go.

Parenthood is one tough, challenging, but yet funnily enjoyable journey.

2D/1N Stay at Kampong Hut, Sentosa

Our family just got back from a short stay at the cheapest place in Sentosa, in the Kampong Hut.

Well, it is not really the cheapest, if you camp under the star-lit night with a tent, that would be at almost no cost. But as we prefer an air-con place, the cheapest choice we had was the Kampong Hut.

A night’s stay costs SGD $35, and each hut comes with 4 single beds, and an air-con unit. Toilet and washroom facilities can be found outside.

All we wanted was a cheap clean cosy place to rest the night, and thus, we would say our requirements were met.

The only tiring part was, as they had no queen sized bed, and the two darlings wanted to sleep with Mummy Eliz, the 3 of us [Mummy Eliz, Princess Chelsea, Prince Christian] were packed like sardines on a single bed for the whole night.

Spoilt Littlest Prince Christian

This is Mummy Eliz’s little online confession, for a 3 year old, Prince Christian is a little spoilt.

He’s learning and has a gentle aloof nature, but as he’s always treated as the little darling in the family, he tends to get away with things a great deal more than his elder sister. He also gets carried around non-stop on family outings.

To summarise it all in one word, he’s totally dependent.

Whereas when Prince Christian was born, Princess Chelsea was only 21 months old. But already at that time, as she was suddenly given the role of an elder sister, she was literally forced to grow up and ‘behave her age’.

This makes Mummy Eliz’s mind drift to the lost littlest one. If she/he had been born, at the time of his/her birth, Prince Christian would be 2.5 years old. With the littlest one assuming the status of the little darling in the family then, Prince Christian would surely be not as spoilt.

PS:

Despite this realisation, Mummy Eliz is at fault too, she certainly enjoys the way he acts little to get her attention, and thus has not really done much to put a stop to this, except when obvious boundaries are crossed.

Goldevia’s 2nd Birthday Party

When Mummy Eliz first heard of this name, she thought that it sounds really unique, reminding her of some sinfully nice chocolates.

She’s two years old now, and our two darlings had fun at her birthday party.

Mummy Eliz’s only question is, “What on earth really happened to make her Little Prince frown so badly?”
