Prince's Emotions, not as simple as 1-2-3

Mummy Eliz had underestimated how complex feelings and emotions can be even for a just-turned 3 years old mostly-contented little boy.

Most days, with very little exceptions, Prince Christian would not hesitate in giving his dearest sister a kiss before she goes school at 8am, but today, funnily he resisted forcefully, thus resulting in a teary Princess.

When Mummy was alone with him later, and probed into the reason for the change in behaviour, she was surprised that Prince was actually able to communicate his unhappiness.

Princess had wanted to kiss another little boy farewell prior to kissing my Prince, that little boy was the younger brother of her friend.

Prince was only able to say that he did not like his sister kissing another boy, he was not able to communicate that he wanted to feel special and irreplaceable, but from his intense expression in his eyes, Mummy Eliz could gather that.

Unexpected All-Time Favourite Toys

Sometimes, the simplest toys are the one which could capture a child’s imagination most, thus it comes as no surprise that my 2 kids’ favourite toys are scissors, paper, sticker tape and double-sided tape. They could sit wrapping presents for ages.

Prince Mastering Uno at 3 years old

Parents tend to make sure their kids know the basics before learning a game; that was in the case of our parenting experience with Princess Chelsea. She was fully familiar with her ABCs and her 123s before she had her first hand at the card game Uno.

For Prince Christian, he had just turned 3 years old, and Mummy Eliz was surprised to see him completing a game of Uno with Daddy Tiong, all by himself.

Of course, help was needed once in a while, in holding up the cards, but he managed to learn his 123s by playing the game. Kids surprise us right, and isn’t that amazing?

The motivation of joining in a family game of Uno makes him learns his 123s willingly.

Prince’s Intense LOVE for the colour Orange

Since as long as Mummy Eliz remembers, Prince has an unexplainable love for the colour Orange.

When Audrey Jieh-Jieh asked him what he would like for his 3rd Birthday Present, his answer is that of an Orange box with nothing inside.

Princess Chelsea was asking about why we do not have full-fledged Art classes at home, when we have Music, Languages, and Maths classes etc, Prince immediately joined in the conversation by asking for the addition of Orange Classes.

Hmmm, can anyone enlighten me on how I can conduct Orange Classes?

Special after-dark Hippo Tour w/ FM 91.3 DJs

Daddy Tiong was lucky, on the exact day of Prince’s Birthday, he got invited by FM 91.3 station to join DJs Jeremy Ratnam and Maddy in hitting the road with them for a special after dark Hippo Tour of some of the most exciting and picturesque spots in the Bras Basah - Bugis Precinct!

The DJs were entertaining and knowledgeable; in fact, they are more than qualified to moonlight as tour guides in their free time. If not for their humorous stories, it would just be a topless double-decker bus ride.

The buss passed Oxley Road. And someone mentioned that our MM lives somewhere in this area.

It was also shared that at one point in the history of Singapore, the old Cathay building was the tallest building in Singapore, and it was only 5 storeys high at that time.

We had a short stopover at Chijmes. DJ Jeremy pointed out that there was a gate called the Gate of Hope in Chijmes where for over a century in the past, abandoned babies would be placed at the gate for the nuns to take in. And usually, those are female babies born in the Year of the Tiger.

That showed how superstitious people of the past used to be.

Prince’s 3rd Birthday at Deerland Montessori

Princess Chelsea had her class interrupted halfway; she was borrowed by Mummy Eliz to attend Prince’s 3rd Birthday Bash at Deerland Montessori.

Princess used to also attend playgroup at the same school, thus she was totally familiar with the protocol, environment. In fact, for Prince’s first 3 days of school this year, it was Princess who kept him company.

Prince’s 3rd Birthday at Aquarius by e Park

This is my Precious Prince’s biggest celebration to date, we had over 50 guests, kids and adults included, and he enjoyed himself tremendously.

Our first included having an agar-agar cake, instead of the normal traditional cakey kind. And it certainly delighted my darling that it is in the shape of Thomas the Train.

Our cake was ordered from Aunty Yochana, and you can browse her lovely collections at http://www.auntyyochana.blogspot.com/. You can reach her at yochana2001@hotmail.com.

Special mention had to be made that Aunty Yochana is a living prime example of having a fulfilling retirement. She looks senior, but her creations are young at heart.

Most seniors have no idea who Thomas the Train is.

PS:

Thank you everyone for coming by, we certainly appreciates it. Unfortunately, there are not many photos taken of the event, Daddy Tiong dropped his camera accidentally, only to find it at the end of the bash. What a bad timing.
