The Gruffalo, Sentosa's Go Green Segway & The Wigglers Live!

The kids in our family had been really blessed.

Princess Chelsea was able to attend The Gruffalo play as Mummy Eliz won a pair of tickets to the play from Ikea’s online contest.

Then shortly after, as part of the National Family Celebrations 2010 at Sentosa, we got to experience the Go Green Segway as a family.

As it was a hot day, the kids chilled out at the water play area at Vivocity after we collected the Go Green Segway tickets.

~ The kids having a great time! ~

The greatest surprise was when a email from Innokidz and Today's Motherhood found its way into Mummy Eliz’s inbox, saying

“Congratulations. You are the winner of the Family Pack (4 tickets) worth S$272 to "The Wiggles Live in Concert" on 5 Jun 2010 2.30pm.”

What a wonderful surprise!

Singapore History Fun Day 2010

Princess Chelsea and Prince Christian skipped their usual noon-time nap today, and time past for them in the blink of an eye in the Function Room of Pandan Valley Condo.

A Singapore History Fun Day was organised by the Home-Schooling Group, and the kids went around the various stalls [tended by lovely mummies and enthusiastic daddies] learning valuable information.

There were information stalls providing information on the origin of National Service in Singapore and on the World War II events timeline. Video clips of olden days Singapore were also shown.

There were activities stalls that require the kids to decorate the attire of their own Peranakan Dolls, to participate in a Treasure Hunt for some quirky Singapore facts, to trace some maps of Singapore, and to taste some local food like Kacang Puteh and Nonya Kueh.

There were story-telling corners, which brought the kids’ imagination to live with accounts of pirates’ quests, of life during World War II and with accounts of Sang Nila Utama.

There were also sessions where traditional games like Zero-Point, 5-Stones etc were played.

Prince Christian loved the Kacang Puteh Uncle, who allowed him uncontrolled access to the delicious snacks, while Princess Chelsea enjoyed the Zero-Point and the story-telling sessions most.

PS:

A special thank you to Littly and Heather for the coordinating work, to Yam Yee for the Guidance book, and to Faith and Suvene for helping to tend to my Nonya Kueh stall while my little ones *fight* for my attention.
